Chin up, Chris Pronger. It could be worse. Your last name could have been Simon. This is a tale of two guys named Chris. But it could be four, six, eight. Chris Simon. Chris Pronger. Over time, both to be remembered for playing haki sac with an opponent's leg while wearing skates. Both to be remembered for being at opposite ends of the pendulum when the iron fist of Colin Campbell came down. In the hypocritical eyes of the NHL, Pronger's vicious stomp on Vancouver's Ryan Kesler was worth an eight-game vacation. For a similar act, Simon was sent to the sidelines for 30 games. Whew. I always knew my math skills were bad, but not that bad. For a moment, I thought that difference was 22 games. What!? It IS 22? To my fifth-grade math teacher, you were wrong. I did amount to something. The discrepancy in the penalties is startling and, some would say, Read Full Post: Chris

Pronger is an idiot. Should have been at least 15 games.

It wasn't nearly as intentional as the Simon stomp, IMO. I think they gave him too much, five games would have been more than enough. Kesler's hit was from behind, BTW

Well until Simon two hands a guy across the face, you can't make comparisons, or until Simon wins the Norris. Could have been more, but Campbell was about right with this one. Not going to suspend him going into the playoffs so his hands were tied.

Kesler's hit was from behind, BTW pronger's looked way more intentional. there's close up footage, kessler's down, so he ties up pronger's feet, pronger looks down right at him and stomps him for the hit/tie up. both were dirty, but simon tried to sneak it in, while pronger just looked right at him. the only thing i could see giving leanancy out of this is that pronger stomped the shin pad, where simon went for the unprotected back of the leg. here's some clearer footage:

If it quacks like a Duck or stomps like a Duck, then it's a Duck, unless your an Anaheim Duck! Pronger got away with one here, as he has in the past and likely will in the future as long as Burke is under the covers with Colin Campbell! Shame on you Colin, your excuse to the press "it was different" with no explination was deplorable. Someday your hiding behind school yard excuses will come back and bite you in the bottom. I was wondering today, if Sidney or Alex had done the same, what would they have got, time served?

There's tough hockey and then there is crap like this. I like how people say "thats the way Pronger plays." What, dirty?
Hope someone cleans his clock and makes him think twice next time he thinks about being a jerk.

Yet another decision that Colin Campbell has cocked up
Darren Dreger mentions in his column that whatever Campbell gave Pronger would be criticised..To that I say, whatever Campbell decides nowadays should be criticised. He should be replaced. There is no room for giving different lengths of suspensions for exactly the same crime.
If I shot someone in the head and killed them I should get life. If I shot them in the heart or buttocks and killed them, does that mean I should only get manslaughter?

Assinine And not only that, but this guy is no choirboy. Eight suspensions, yet he gets treated with kid gloves. Hypocrites at that NHL office...
