As I scanned the stories coming across the wire early Monday night, even I had a chuckle when reading one particular headline.
"Simon leaves Islanders for assistance."
Gee, do ya think?
I'm hoping a whole lot of it.
It seems Simon, according to his own words, needs some time away from hockey to contemplate his future.
I'm thinking Colin Campbell could make that decision pretty damn simple for Simon.
Kick him out of the league.
Not for 10 games, 20 games, half a season.
For life.
For all the beatings Simon has spared teammates over the years, here is a guy who has lost his right to wear the tough-guy crown.
He is nothing but a coward.
