There is really no in-between with Jeremy Roenick, nor has there been his entire career. You either love him or hate him.

But even those leading the anti-J.R. brigade have to admit that the San Jose Sharks are looking like geniuses for rolling the dice with the old man.

Getting Roenick to check his oft-inflated ego at the door may have been the largest coup of all for Doug Wilson and Co., and may pay even larger dividends once the post-season begins next week.

Forget Theodore and Kovalev for a moment. Is there a player more deserving of the comeback player of the year than...

You are wrong if you believe that there is not a rallying cry for Roenick to win the Cup. While he might not be the sentimental choice, as Ray Bourque was, he has a legion of fans both across the country and around the world that want nothing more for him than his name on that trophy.

There is no one, NO ONE, that deserves it more.

I have followed JR since his first shift as a Chicago Blackhawk, and can say that yes he deserves another Cup run and the chance to go out a champ. He has made the Sharks and Doug Wilson look like the smartest people in hockey.
Game winning goals in regulation, shootout goals, and the overall attitude that he has brought to the Sharks has been fantastic.
I hope that if the Sharks get deep into the playoffs that the media and the fans can stand behind him and cheer him on.

Does anyone remember his time in Philly when he suffered through a broken jaw, and other facial injuries late in the season and came back long before anyone expected him to?

And then when he scored the overtime winner against Belfour and the Leafs to get Philly to the conference finals? That's the kind of run and longer that I hope he gets.

JR, you deserve it!!

As a Leaf fan,yes I remember it well..It was a perfect shot that beat Belfour. As a long time hockey fan, I respect the hell out of JR. I am glad to see his head is back in the game, as I thought it was wrong for him not to be in game shape playing for the Coyotes and Kings. That was a ripoff to their paying fans..But all things being equal, he has moved on and now has a good chance of finally winning that elusive cup.
