And now The Chase begins. Over the past six months, and 2,460 games to get to this point, what, exactly, have we learned? In the grand scheme of things, not a whole heck of a lot except that Ovechkin kid is pretty good, the Leafs still suck and the Atlanta Thrashers have the ugliest uniforms in the NHL. Outside of that, not all that much is fact. Over 150,000 minutes of regular season hockey to separate the best 16 in the league and let 14 others know, yes, that they just wasted six months of their lives. No one knows what is going to happen over the course of the next nine weeks or so, but two things are certain. There will be at least another 60 games, and perhaps as many as 105, played before Gary Bettman... Read Full Post: Stanley

Quote:the Atlanta Thrashers have the ugliest uniforms in the NHL. That was uncalled for! There are far worse out there, like the Coyotes, Red Wings or Penguins. The Wings and Penguins are classics, but that doesn't make them less ugly.

I'm not sure jhcrackn, I might have to agree with Marty on this one...the Thrashers logo is pretty bad.

I'm not really sure what that image has to do with the word "thrash" but anway.
However you did put up a good point. These other teams are guilty of ugliness as well!

But I might say that the Ducks have the worst. I know they redid it but it's still awful.

What? Are you guys kidding me? Hello! All we need to see is the Wild. Theirs is horrible. I mean really who actually says yes to putting a landscape or horizon on a hockey jersey? Get real!
I mean this logo is so UGLY and you have to look close at it to even know what it's a picture of. Not to mention the colors they chose. Now I really like green and red together especially the colors they chose. But somehow they managed to make it look fugly. I'm not quite sure how but whoever did it should win some kind of award because that was no easy feat!
And let's not forget Buffalo. Their new logo looks like some sort of deformed buffalo. Sorry new creative agency who the franchise must have paid big bucks to, it's not a cool design. It's actually kinda creepy.
But their old design was weird too. It looked like they wanted to kill a buffalo with two swords. Good luck with that one because I'm sure the buffalo would kill you before you killed it with two measely swords.
And last but not least because how could you forget about this one...the Kings. WHAT were they thinking? How is their new look an upgrade from the old one? I'm sorry but the new look just isn't even in the same league as the old look. Were a bunch of head honchos sitting around a table and one of them said "Hey no one has purple." and then "Great idea Joe, we're sure to stand out with purple."
Ya you stand out alright, stand out as UGLY!
If you wanted people to notice you then job well done. I guess you don't care that people think your uniforms are laughable. And don't even get me started on the stupid crown. I mean we get it, you're the Kings. Couldn't you have at least used a cool looking crown? Like anyone would actually want to wear an ugly crown like that. It looks like a little kid cut it out of paper. Good Job! I'd like to know how much they paid someone to come up with their new looks.

Was that on purpose? Or were you stating the quiet thought when you said this will be a "Wild ride..." I noticed you never mentioned them till the end.

For the first time in forever I am jacked for these playoffs to start. The parity in this league is such that any team can win any night. I'm calling PIT-DET in the final, but both will have to beat some pretty damn good teams to get there.

It was a Freudian slip and nothing more. I didn't mention them out of lack of respect for the Wild, but simply because I was running out of room. I'll be posting my Eastern Conference playoff preview tomorrow, and the West Wednesday morning, but I wouldn't be surprised if any of the top four seeds made it all the way and yes, that includes Minny.

There are a lot of interesting matchups but I think the Flames might give the Sharks a handful. The NY-NJ and Dallas-Anaheim series should be great as well.
Pittsburgh-Anaheim in the final.

I like the Flames - Sharks series. Could be rough and tumble hockey.
Also like Sens - Pens. Wouldn't be surprised at an upset here, that's if the Sens get some goaltending.
