For a while last night today, it looked as though you would be enjoying your morning ham and eggs with Evgeni and Marty.

If you are like me, there are stifled yawns and bleary eyes scattered all through the office, but damnit, was it not worth it?

To say that was a goaltending duel is like saying Eva Longoria wears awesome shoes.

That wasn't a duel as much as wondering which brick wall would crumble first.

Didn't stay awake until the wee hours of this morning to watch the Dallas Stars send the snake-bitten San Jose Sharks home early yet again? Too bad.

You missed something special.

That was an amazing display of goaltending. The Sharks deserved the better fate but Turco was unbelievable. No one can say he is a playoff choke artist again.
Feel bad for Nabokov, he was amazing as well. That save was one of the best I have seen considering it was ot.

This was a true instant classic. Matched save for save each goaltender made there case to win the game and take control of the series. Marty and Dallas knew that anything can happen in a game 7 on the road. Evgeni and the Sharks needed the win to stay alive. This game was the closest to being a game 7 without actually being a game 7.

The series seemed destine for a showdown in San Jose after the controversy in game five. That was only matched when the Sharks scored to tie game six on a goal that may or may not have been directed in by a Shark glove. Even when Nabokov was beaten by Robeiro the iron was unkind to the Stars.

Being a fan of neither of these teams I am only disappointed to see the series end. Turco used every inch of his pads, every inch of his body to make sure it did end with game six early this morning. And like I said before, short of a game 7, this was an epic battle of evenly matched foes.

One of the best ever, its too bad someone had to lose that game. Dallas is going to give the Wings all they can handle if Turco stays hot.

That was an unreal game and it still stings. If not for Turco there would be a Game 7 Tuesday, but Dallas did what they had to do and got the big series lead. Big changes coming in SJ, I think.

I can't imagine the shot nerves and ultimate heartbreak that had to go along watching this game while rooting for the Sharks. Hang in there, guys. You are tremendous fans.

That said, unbelievable game. Props not only to the goalies, but warriors like Brian Campbell who logged over 60 minutes of ice time. I was exhausted just watching these guys.

I was working last night till about 3 am est and as I often do I tape the late games and as I started to replay the game not knowing who had won and not knowing that something special was unfolding I watched the first 116 of the 129 minutes then the darn tape ran out. Who would of thought in the new N.H.L. that we would have a marathon since we were having just short ot. Now onto the game, I would say that from my point of view taking into account that it was a do or die for San Jose and that we could be watching something special happening in San Jose in trying to come back from a 3-0 deficit. From watching hockey for 35 years That would have to go down in the top 5 ot games for sure because of the outstanding goaltending and just the real close misses such as a couple from Ribero.
I have a hard time even remembering a better ot game in the last 35 years although obvious some great exciting games in the 80's. There is the '87 canada cup game with Lemieux scoring and a game in the 90's with Montreal and NYR where patrick Roy stood on his head. It is sure refreshing not to be in the pre lockout years where the hockey was terrible for at least 5 years, Here's hoping we see more great hockey..
