Sometimes, this job really sucks. Sure, the perks are great and there isn't a lot to whine about when writing hockey for a living. But I'd have a better chance of having Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba cooking me breakfast — together —than trying to figure out the playoff scenario in the Western Conference with a few weeks to go. If anyone else has an idea, throw me a bone. OK, I'll put money on the Red Wings and the red-hot Sharks to finish 1-2. That's my way of going out on a limb. Livin' on the edge, huh? After that, I'm more confused than a woodpecker in a concrete forest. Four teams within two points in the Northwest prior to last night? Oh well, in advance of the slew of "Hey idiot" emails headed my way, this is how I think it will all shake out in the West: 1. DETROIT RED WINGS It seems like Read Full Post: Western

Can't say I disagree, especially with the San Jose outlook. This conference is by far and way the better of the two, and it is nuts coming down to the wire. Should be a lot of fun. DET, SJ, MIN, ANA and DAL as the top five? Talk about parity!

I still think the Canucks can do some damage simply because of Luongo. Detroit is cooling down and it probably isn't the ideal time to be doing that.
I'm thinking San Jose wins it all, though, and will get by the Ducks to get to the final.

Don't be too quick to count out the Oil.
I'm picking Anaheim to win it all. The Ducks are built for the playoffs and haven't fotgotten last year.

The way the Sharks are playing, no one is going to beat them, including Detroit and Anaheim.

If this playoff scenario does hold, and the Ducks play the Stars in the first round, Anaheim's in trouble. The Ducks have not matched up well with the Stars this season. Then again, they beat Dallas tonight without Pronger, so I could be a complete moron.
That being said, San Jose's the team to beat. Getting Campbell was the best deadline move in the league.

You think the flames are going to stay in it?!?! They've got to be the most over-rated junk in the leauge. Watch out for it. They'll fall out of the picture, and Nashville or Edmonton will climb back in.
