With the IIHF World Hockey Championship bragging rights now on the line in Canada, bet you're wondering what it must feel like for the Europeans to have the crown jewel of their hockey season brought to this side of the Atlantic Ocean.

Now that the worlds are finally on Canadian soil, one of our more creative contributors feels things probably aren't all that rosy on the far side of the pond.

This season marks the first time since 1962, when Colorado hosted the tournament, that the World Championships are not being staged overseas.

TOP 10 THINGS EUROPEANS WILL MISS OUT NOT HOSTING THE WORLD HOCKEY CHAMPIONSHIPS...

Nice work Steve!

It must be different for Europeans, this tournament is a staple in their hockey season. Oh well, with the 100th anniversary of the IIHF and a prelude to the 2010 Olympics, it makes sense to have them here, although the European fans seem to be feeling right at home in Canada.
