PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - The Peterborough Petes have decided to make a coaching change.

The Ontario Hockey League team announced Wednesday that it will not renew the contracts of head coach Vince Malette and assistant Darren Keily. The Petes squeaked into the playoffs with a 28-36-1-3 record this season and were eliminated in the first round by the Belleville Bulls.

Malette's amassed a 52-75-0-9 record in two seasons at the helm. The Petes missed the playoffs last year.

Malette joined the Petes prior to the 2006-07 season after working as an assistant under Hall of Fame coach Brian Kilrea of the Ottawa 67's for nine seasons.

Keily, who also served as the club's assistant general manager, had been with the team for five seasons.
