Hockey - What is the Point?
How can you get invested in a team where the players are always leaving. But offers an equally good point about how the NHL isn't so different.
Care to weigh in with your opinion?
As I sit here listening to the sports radio station in town, I am made aware of a win by the local minor league team of the Toronto Maple Leafs, namely the
"Marlie
s"
as they have beaten the
San Antonio "Rampage" 3-2 to even up their playoff series at a deuce.
Normally I don't really care for the AHL as it has teams that have players that won't be around very long, either from moving on, promotion to the big club or what have you..basically, how does one get connected to a team if you know they won't have the same core players year in and year out? I know the same question can be asked of ones favourite professional team, but I believe players like
Jiri
Tlusty will finish out this playoff with the Marlies, and then go up to the big team next year, and not look back..
