If you've been watching the 2008
IIHF World Championship games in between the Stanley Cup games you would have seen Team
Finland perform a miracle goal against the U.S
team.
Apparently, to be the play reviewer for a game, being able to see isn't a prerequisite or job requirement. Vi
lle
Koistinen actually scored from the outside of the net which at first glance appeared to beat R
obert
Esche. Pretty sweet trick if you ask me. They should score all their goals that way. It would be a lot easier! I'm sure all the teams will want to sign Koistinen if he can perform such feats.
Finland went on to win that game with a 3-2 victory over the U.S.
Check out what Marty Henwood has to say about the matter: World
Hockey Championship goal judge snafu – honest mistake or corruption?

I saw this game and even the commentators were blown away. I'm not sure exactly how that was deemed a goal since from more than one camera angle it was from the outside of the net. Makes me wonder what is going on I mean. Don't they use the same camera angles that we at home watch from?
